The 2017 Specialized Sirrus is an excellent choice for someone looking to get into cycling as a sport and upgrade from department store bikes. This was my first time buying a bike from an actual bike shop and WOW what a difference there is! Buying from Summit City was an amazing experience. You get so much more when you purchase from a bike shop vs. a department store or online. With the purchase of my new bike I received a free one year tune-up and free adjustments within the first year! The Sirrus is a great bike for just riding around for fun or commuting. I have been riding it for 2 months and here's what I can say about it. It's comfortable, lightweight, fairly quick, looks handsome, and so much Fun! My average speed is about 14 mph and my max speed is about 28 mph going down hill! I love cycling and ride mostly neighborhoods and trails which this bike is perfect for and I highly recommend the Specialized Sirrus for anyone looking to do the same. Thank you Summit City for the wonderful customer experience!

Comments:

Bought this to replace a Mongoose mountain bike I've used for 10 yrs. Put on my gel seat and got out of subway (Kings Highway) in Bklyn to drive to Marine Pkwy Bridge. Ended up taking a 3 1/2 hr ride and stopping at Tacoway Beach for a bite in the Rockaways! I took the bike off-road on purpose to see if I should give away my MB. The tires on the Sirrus are smaller than MB tires but thicker than road bike tires so if you're NOT going over logs and boulder, you'll be more than fine. Most of my 40 min rides are on pavement or gravel and than short sandy, pebbly areas so this bike is perfect! Subway stairs are a bit of a hassle as I have to lift the front of the bike by handlebars as I descend/ascend stairs. To get a really light bike is 3 times or more and for the price this is a bike I can ride around NYC and lock up in the daytime and feel secure. Steers easily around pot holes but don't ride over sewer grates. Great purchase . . . fun to ride!!!

Bought this bike about 9 months ago, a long overdue upgrade to an old Peugeot.. love it. I generally ride about 100 miles a week during the summer, 40 - 50 in the winter. I just dropped the bike off to have aero bars installed. Can't wait to hit the road again.

Used for cardio work out. Ride short to medium distance at fast pace. Not a con, but I am not used to the shifting. Learning on the fly and would not change a thing. The green color of the 2015 is fantastic. 1st Specialized bike and will never buy another brand.

Purchased the bike in 2011 and have put on over 1600 miles in the last 3 years. I don't get to ride as often as I like but when I do it's usually 10+ miles a day. I really enjoy the bike, it's a lot of fun to ride. It's fast, but not as fast as a road bike. Still it's a great all around bike.

I can be found primarily riding a Roubaix. I purchased the Sirrus as my slow-speed/fun/comfort bike. The Sirrus is very comfortable, a lot of fun, and actually can be quite fast, slow too when wanted or needed. Also rides well in the grass. I could actually see a much longer trip aboard now that I have a bike to mount racks upon. Honestly, I couldn't be any happier and I purchased the base model. PS- I did a lot of shopping beforehand and expected to pay much more to find what I now have.

          Comments:

I bought the specialized 13' sirrus basic model yesterday at my LBS. The staff was so nice and he explained every questions to me patiently. As I just had this bike for a day, I am not ready to give any comments regarding its durability and components yet. However, I have been in a good position to say that this bike is a great one. I tried it today with 16km riding in a windy (40kph) and cold weather (1-3C), with a lot of uphill sections. I did not feel any fatigue. The riding was so easy and gear changing was very smooth and fast. Compared to my mountain bike, the riding experience is completely different. This bike is very light, weighing only 25 pounds. I am confident that I can start to commute from Richmond Hill to Downtown Toronto every day from next Monday except the bad weather days. The only thing I want to complain is about the seat which caused me a bit sore after 16km riding. I am going to replace it with a softer seat or put a gel cover on it.

This Bike is truly amazing. I bought it so that I could ride it to school (3.5 mi away) and it handles beautifully! All the components work great and I would truly recommend buying this bike. This is also my first REAL bike, as my previous one was the department variety, but its not too expensive, and still handles like a pro. Rock on cyclists, and take your adventures to the cosmos frontier with this hot ride!

I bought this bike about a year ago because my mountain bike was too heavy for the hills and my road bike was too wimpy for the rough patches between my house and my favorite ride on the strand here in the [...] . No problems, super comfy. I ride about 80 miles/week.

I got this bike a week ago and it is incredible a huge change from what I had before. The guy's at the [...] store helped me out alot they spend the time to explain everything about the bike from the frame to the tires and everything in between a fantastic group. This was my first big bike, I went to other stores but I highly recommend this one for quality service and great info on whatever you need.
